Books I found helpful
My class talked about the Exxon Valdez spill a little bit so I checked out a few more books at the library to learn about other oil spills. The Exxon Valdez is an oil tanker that spilled in Alaska in 1989. Over 11 million gallons of oil spilled into the Sound. It took years for workers to clean up and many say in some areas there is residue from the oil still. The books I recommend are The Exxon Valdez: Tragic Oil Spill by Victoria Sherrow and The Exxon Valdez’s Deadly Oil Spill by Linda Ward Beech.
